The data presented here represents a portion of the telemetry work conducted to establish home range estimates for snapping turtles (Chelydra serpentina) in an open river environment in Virginia. The column to the far left is a list, by transmitter number, of a subset of the turtles we tracked within the Chickahominy watershed in Charles City County, VA. These turtles were tracked across three field seasons, with tracking intensity increased in the final season to examine potential seasonal shifts in home range size. The individual turtle pages will provide you with home range estimates and basic morphometic and timeline information on a particular turtle. These findings are being incorporated into a larger manuscript which for the first time estimates snapping turtle home ranges in a lotic environment and compares/contrasts our findings with past studies conducted in lentic environments.
